Spotify to crack US

Reports suggest that Spotify might be about to crack the US market after signing a deal with Universal Music Group. This means that the music streaming service has three out of the four major music labels on side, so there's little in the way of it opening for business across the pond.

iTunes Match - piracy

Apple's iTunes Match may let pirates get clean copies of their music, as it appears it won't be able to distinguish between authorised and unauthorised music. However, the service will cost $24.99, some ofwhich will go to record labels, meaning that the music industry may finally earn money from illegally downloaded songs.

No iTunes in the cloud For UK yet

Apple's iTunes in the Cloud might not be available for UK users until 2012. Speaking to The Daily Telegraph, a spokesman for the Performing Right Society explained that although talks had started, they are still "a long way off from any deals being signed."

Biffy Clyro - Revolutions/ Live at Wembley

The Scottish rockers have released this album, packed with live recordings from the Wembley leg of their First arena tour.

Alice Gold - Seven Rainbows

Listening to this debut album, you wouldn't guess that it had been recorded in just 22 days, without a penny from a record label to support it.

Beverley Knight - Soul UK

Four years after being made an MBE by the Oueen, Beverley uplifts us with her seventh studio album, in the form of 13 British Soul covers that inspired her while she was growing up.

Take That - Progressed

Yes, they're still here, and there are still five of them. Take That have repackaged their number one album, Progress, adding eight extra songs to the mix.

The Saturdays - Notorious (Remixes)

The multi-coloured tights seem like a distant memory after the release of Notorious. Now you can download five remixed versions of their latest track.

Paramore - Monster

Much to the delight of worried fans, the American rock band have released their First single since losing two key members, Josh and Zac Farro, in December.

The Beatles Anthology

Following the arrival of the Beatles on iTunes in 2010, three remastered, double-length Anthology albums have made their digital debut. The albums delve deep into the Beatles' career through a total of 155 live recordings, demos and studio sessions ranging from the Fab Four's earliest known recordings, to lo-fi demos and rooftop concerts. The albums are available separately or as a box set exclusively on iTunes, and there's a 23-track highlights album available for anyone who prefers to hear the best bits.
