World's first Thunderbolt display launched by Apple

Having already launched the world's first laptop to sport a Thunderbolt connection, Apple is now the first manufacturer to launch a display that uses Intel's high-speed data-transfer technology, n Apple's Thunderbolt display features I an edge-to-edge glass design and has a j 178-degree viewing angle. It can be connected I to a Thunderbolt-enabled Mac using a compatible cable. "With just one cable, users can dock with their new display and connect to high-performance peripherals, network connections and audio devices," said Philip Schiller, Apple's senior vice-president of worldwide product marketing. Intel expects to see Thunderbolt technology implemented in other PCs and displays in early 2012. It didn't comment on specific devices or the manufacturers that will produce them.
