E-Cell on show in Stuttgart

Mercedes Benz recently became part of a sustainability
tour at Stuttgart airport in Germany - entitled
Fairport STR - which highlights how the site addresses
environmental and sustainability questions.
The “Emission-free Mobility” station on the tour
was created by Mercedes-Benz and features its Vito
E-Cell van.
The latter is the world’s first emission-free, electric
motor powered van available as standard ex factory.
The electric motor generates an output of 60 kW and
280 Nm of torque, and in the interests of achieving the
greatest possible battery range, the top speed of the
van is limited to 80 km/h.
The ultra-modern, particularly powerful and durable
lithium-ion batteries are housed under the load compartment
floor, which saves space, and boast a total
capacity of 36 kWh, enough for an operating range of
around 130 kilometres.
